課程概述

In response to climate change and sustainable development, there is a staged forward-looking theme: climate services.

Climate Services aim to equip students with essential abilities across earth sciences, life sciences, and social sciences.

This course uses a one-credit short course to explore the concept of climate services, analyze data through actual topics, and then group to complete the report.

課程目標
Cultivate students from collecting data to thinking about problems independently, asking questions and solving problems.

A solid foundation for climate services' basic science and innovative exploration capabilities. The course includes lectures, invited seminars, practical meetings, group discussions, and presentations.

After the courses, participants will be able to:
a. Understand the basics and use of climate datasets (models and observations)
b. Interpret the climate datasets
c. Use the available climate datasets from National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR), Central Weather Bureau (CWB), RCEC Academia Sinica, and Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) for different kinds of purpose (e.g., water resource, agriculture and food security, disaster risk reduction, health…)
